Eph. 3:4-7 - The Mystery of Christ

4 By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,
5 which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;
6 to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,
7 of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.

Gentiles are Fellow Heirs

Vs. 4 - "By referring to this, when you read you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ,"

By referring to this, when you read” - As you read the other letter (or previous information in this letter) Paul says you will begin to understand how I know what I know. (See: 1 Pet 1:10-12; Col 1:26-27)

Vs. 5 - “which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;” -

God’s Holy Spirit, working in and through the believers in Christ (specifically - through the apostle Paul) began to reveal the “mystery” of salvation for all who come. (Acts 13:46-48, 15:7-19).

Vs. 6 - “to be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,

Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body” - (See: Eph 2:11-15; Gal 3:26-29; Col 3:11) The mystery - and it is still is - the gospel is an open book, to all who will look in. Christ is the only way (John14:6; Acts 4:12), but no one will be turned away (John 6:37-40).

Vs. 7 - “of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.”

I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace” - God’s power worked; God’s grace bestowed; as a result of the two working together Paul responded, and preached the gospel (See: 1 Cor 15:3-6; John 3:16) to the Gentiles.
